Lovely day spent exploring the Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation.
I signed up for the Cape Tribulation and Daintree tour as a solo traveller and had an amazing day. The driver Joe was sweet and funny and very knowledgeable about the Rainforest and surrounding areas. The drive up to the Daintree River was so beautiful! Almost like the Great Ocean Road! The group in the van was quite small and it was a comfortable ride.
When we arrived at the Daintree River we had morning tea and boarded the boat for the cruise. The boat driver for the river cruise was very personable and shared heaps of interesting facts about the rainforest that I never knew; although we didn’t see a crocodile because the weather was too warm, the information I gained was worth it!
Afterwards, Joe picked us up on the other side of the river and took us on a guided walk through the World Heritage listed Daintree Rainforest. Joe knew practically everything and could answer every question we had about the flora and fauna. It was a lovely walk and a beautiful experience.
After a long morning of driving and learning about the rainforest, it was nice to be able to relax at the private lunch spot. The crystal clear water was refreshing to splash around in and the beautiful trees all around us set up the perfect spot for a delicious lunch. Keep an eye out for the adorably tiny frogs hopping all around.
After lunch, the drive up to Cape Tribulation to see where the rainforest meets the Great Barrier Reef was amazing. The view was truly spectacular. We had ample time to walk around and soak up the beauty. At this point, our small group had become quite comfortable with each other and we enjoyed spending the time chatting and taking pictures in front of such a stellar backdrop.
When it was time to leave Cape Tribulation there was still time for one last treat. We stopped at a tropical fruit ice creamery and indulged in some of the most delicious ice cream I’ve had, I still dream about it!
The Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation are destinations that everyone should see! I’ll never forget it! Overall great trip, thanks Trek North!
